December edition

Thank you for your commitment to pray for our family, ministry, and the Tarahumara people!  You are an important partner with us in extending God’s Kingdom here in northern Mexico.  We appreciate your faithfulness to pray for us.  Thank you!

Here is a brief update from November.  The baptisms of new Christians in San Luis Majimachi were amazing!  The number of baptized Christians doubled, with 13 Tarahumaras deciding to follow Jesus Christ and publically making a commitment to make Him Lord of their lives.  Of these, 7 are youth.  In addition, Michael, the Kaemingks’ 16-yr-old son was also baptized.

Beginning in January, José Luis will be teaching a discipleship class for the new believers each Saturday.  Please pray for each one:  Marianita, Lucia, Alejandra, Martín, Andrés, Alejandro, Mercedes, María Elena, Salvador, Guadalupe, Matilde, Flor Elinda, and Mario Pancho.

The November Bible course was held from Nov. 14-17, and 11 Tarahumara Christians attended the classes (along with 1 child).  Thank you for keeping this ministry in your prayers.  We will not be holding the course in December; however, we will begin again in January.

Please pray for José Luis as he prepares to teach the discipleship and training course for the Tarahumara Christians who live in the communities where the former Baptist pastor in Creel, Ernesto, visits regularly.  This course will be held this weekend, Dec. 2-4.  Pray that José Luis will have God’s words to share with those in attendance and that he will be filled with the Lord’s wisdom.  Please pray that the Christians who attend will be strengthened in their faith and challenged to walk more closely with the Lord Jesus Christ.

The translation committee has not met for almost a month due to the schedules of the Tarahumara pastors and the Wycliffe missionary.  Please continue to pray for this work – pray for the members of the committee (Martha, Giltro, Fernando, Marcos, and José Luis) and pray that each would be filled with a burning desire to see God’s Word translated into Tarahumara Alta.

Finally, we ask you to keep our family in your prayers.  Please pray for Jaynie and her schooling.  Pray that we would continue to be led by the Lord with regards to our plans for next year.  Thank you for praying for our health and safety.  We are blessed in so many ways and we praise God!  We pray for you also.  May God bless you this day with His awesome grace, His precious peace, and His great wisdom.

In Christ and for His glory,

José Luis, Susan, & Jaynie, joseandsusanparra@hotmail.com
